A week in Bermuda
We’ve been in Bermuda a week now anchored in St George’s Harbour at the north end of the island. This is a large harbour with a tiny entrance that somehow manages to squeeze in huge cruise ships.
We got Katie’s US visa on Wednesday. This involved a five o’clock start and a bus trip to the other end of the island but by three in the afternoon she had a visa in her passport.
Then it has just been a matter of waiting for the weather. This has involved regular trips to the yacht club (conveniently at happy hour!) to check the weather on-line.
In the meantime, we have had our last snorkel in warm waters, baked a cake, re-provisioned with fresh food - at great expense and had Sunday lunch (on Monday) aboard a mega-yacht.
Just as were ready to go, tropical storm “Barry” decided to head our way from Florida. This has now passed to the north of us and the weather looks good to go tomorrow (Tuesday 5th June). All going well, we should arrive in Newport, Rhode Island, in about a week’s time.

Hi Ros Ailither,
When you get to Rhode Island keep an eye open for a boat of similar lines. The 'Tsmyne Too' was built at Killybegs boatyard to the same basic plans as us. The hull was for Malahide Boatyard near Dublin and they made a really handsome job of fitting her out in 1968.
Sad to report that some of our sisters have been dismantled. Ros Mhuire was due to be scuttled last month, Ros Oirthir is lying ashore at Aranmore and will never sail again and Ros Liath is reported scuttled near Dublin. I believe that Ros Min has found new owners, she's a Malahide conversion.
I've now got a nice mast, not as elaborate as yours but nice all the same. I'm green with envy at that sunshine...
Regards,
Ros Donn
