Log onto this site to follow our travels in 'Ros Ailither'.
Sadly, there is nothing much to report as yet, as we are still preparing to leave. For those unfamiliar with our project, we have spent the last five years converting an old Irish trawler into a motor-sailer, which is now more-or-less seaworthy.
So far, we have done several short coast-hops to Brixham, Torquay, Dartmouth... and two trips across the Channel to Alderney and Cherbourg. We have had the boat sailing at 7.5 knots under sails alone and had our first visit from dolphins on a recent trip to Falmouth.
We now have the whole summer to finish preparing the boat and learn to sail it en route to the Canaries via the Scillies, Ireland, France, Spain and Portugal.
